Rugamba Jackson

President & Founder

Solace Refugees Transition Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Jackson Rugamba and keza Mignone to support refugees in the USA as they transition into their new lives. Having personally experienced the challenges of adapting to life in a new country without language skills or local support, Jackson and keza created Solace Refuge to address the needs of refugees by offering resources and assistance to help them overcome similar obstacles. Jackson Rugamba, a refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo, arrived in the United States in 2009. Despite facing challenges like language barriers and cultural differences, he persevered through education and determination. He earned a bachelor's degree in healthcare management and founded Solace Refugees Transition Center to help other refugees. The center provides resources, education, and support to refugees, empowering them to overcome obstacles and build successful lives in their new home. Rugamba's journey exemplifies the resilience and strength of refugees, inspiring hope and demonstrating the power of giving back to the community.

Welcome to Solace Refugees Transition Center. As a co-founder, it is both an honor and a privilege to stand with you on this journey of new beginnings. I know that the path that brought you here was not easy. Each of you carries stories of courage, loss, strength, and hope. Please know this: your past does not define your limits—your dreams do. You have already shown incredible resilience, and that same strength will guide you forward. At Solace, we believe in you. We believe in your ability to learn, to grow, to lead, and to build a future filled with dignity and opportunity. This center exists to support you—not just with services, but with compassion, respect, and community. Here, you are seen, you are valued, and you belong. Take each step with confidence, no matter how small it may seem. Progress is built one step at a time. Never be afraid to ask for help, and never stop believing in your potential. Together, we will turn challenges into opportunities and dreams into reality. You are not alone. Solace is your home, and we are proud to walk this journey with you.
