The Parenting & Family Education Program at Solace Refugees Transition Center is designed to support refugee and immigrant families as they navigate parenthood and family life in a new cultural environment. The program is divided into two key components to meet families at different stages: Prenatal and Early Childhood Education and Parenting Classes.
1. Prenatal and Early Childhood Education
This component supports expectant parents and families with young children by providing essential knowledge and guidance for healthy development and well-being.
Program focus includes:
* Prenatal health and wellness education
* Childbirth preparation and maternal support
* Infant care and early development
* Nutrition and healthy practices for mothers and children
* Understanding healthcare systems and pediatric services
* Emotional support for new and expecting parents
This program helps families feel informed, confident, and supported during pregnancy and the early years of a child’s life.
2. Parenting Classes
Parenting Classes are designed to help parents raise children in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment while adjusting to cultural differences and expectations.
Program focus includes:
* Positive parenting skills and communication
* Child behavior and discipline strategies
* Understanding child development stages
* Supporting children in school and education systems
* Balancing cultural values with new parenting environments
* Strengthening family relationships
Through group discussions, practical lessons, and guided support, parents gain tools to build strong, healthy families.
At Solace Refugees Transition Center, we believe strong families build strong communities. This program empowers parents with knowledge, confidence, and connection as they raise their children and build a stable future together.
